Shoes, slugs and more

Hi folks, first of all a correction!
Martin visited our shoe-sponsors Inov-8 in Sipplingen, Germany last week - and when they realized, that I am planning to run the race this year with the RED shoes, they acted really fast... the red version of the Inov-8 roclite 312GTX is the last year's model; and Florian and Manuel decided that we should run with the 2010 version of this great shoes, in order to represent the brand in the correct way - thanks :-) So the decision is the same, the model looks a bit different. Instead of the flashy red version, we will wear the sporty black/yellow design...cool. First choice roclite 312GTX, spare  pair roclite 295. May the games begin!

Last long training together this morning
Martin and me decided that we have to do at least one long run together, before we will gather at the line-up in Ruhpolding in two weeks. Due to our both busy schedules, we agreed to run today, early in the morning in Martin's playground, the Taunus hills north of Frankfurt. I already went there Friday evening and enjoyed the hospitality of Moni, Martin and Benjamin :-) We discussed all open points, which are still open and went to bed pretty early, as we already had to be on the road at 8 a.m. - we planned not only a training session, we also started the first serious tests with our drinks, gels and bars from our new sponsor Peeroton. We have only two weeks time, so we have to make sure that we know exactly what and when to eat'n'drink. Secondly - not less important at all - we both were wearing the shoes for the race first time. I plan to run around 60k before the race, that I can be sure that they fit as I am used to it :-)
So we started at 8 and met Sophie, a running pal of Martin, after 20 minutes. The weather was just fantastic and we were cruising through the forest with an easy speed, talking and smiling :-) The testing of the food stuff was perfect; we are very confident to have the right partner by our sides with Peeroton. Thanks to Andreas at this point! My personal favourite is the cherry flavoured mineral-vitamin drink! So we wre just running and having fun for 2:15h, enjoying this late summer morning. Thanks Dr. Sophie & Martin!

What else?!
Nothing. Easy going with Joona & Finn today - they will stay overnight at my place. Tomorrow another easy session for me in the local forest here in Darmstadt area. Ahhhhhh... the slug in the first picture of this post. I thought it's just a nice motive - let's hope that the shoes make me run fast enough to pass that speedy animal :-)

Aloha, Janne
